The Beyond Tech campaign aims to highlight the extraordinary members of RTC and all that they are outside of being a tech student! As part of our mission to empower our community, we would like to provide a platform to highlight all of the wonderful things that our members do outside of RTC.

Q: How has being a [Writer and Creative] impacted your life in a positive way?

A: I can use words to explore interesting topics that encourage critical thinking as well as engaging with our emotions. With one sentence, I can poke at someone’s heart and get them to reflect in a way they might not have before. I see this as a superpower. One that can help us grow more empathy and compassion for each other.

Q: Does being who you are beyond tech impact your life in tech, or do you keep them separate?

A: I generally keep them separate but I don’t hide that part of myself.

Q: What are you most proud of as it relates to your life beyond tech?

A: I’m publishing my first poetry collection this August! It’s entitled “To Her” and it focuses on womanhood. I’ve been writing from my own perspective as well as interviewing other women and writing based on the inspiration from our conversations. I’d love if my RTC community would support me by pre-ordering my book if interested.

Q: Is there anything else that you would like to tell us about who you are beyond tech?

A: I also love exploring other cultures and learning languages. I’m currently in an introductory Korean class and an introductory Chinese class.

Are you a member of RTC who would like to be featured? Please fill out the form below to give us some more information about who you are, beyond tech, and let RTC highlight you!
